Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-04-19

These Terms govern your use of UK Tax Tools (uktax.tools, "the Site"). By accessing or using the Site you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. What we provide

UK Tax Tools is a collection of free tax calculators and explanatory content relating to UK taxation. Calculations run in your browser using published HMRC and devolved-government rates. We may update, withdraw, or modify calculators and content at any time without notice.

2. Not tax advice

All content and calculator output is provided for general information only. It is not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice, and does not constitute a regulated activity under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. It does not create any adviser–client relationship.

Tax rules change and individual circumstances vary. Before relying on any figure for a real decision, verify it against GOV.UK or consult a Chartered Accountant or a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

3. No warranty of accuracy

While we take reasonable care to reflect HMRC rates correctly, we make no warranty that the Site, its calculations, or its content are accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. Where an edge case is ambiguous, the calculator uses a documented assumption; see the Methodology page.

4. Intellectual property

All text, design, code, and data compilations on the Site are owned by or licensed to UK Tax Tools and are protected by UK copyright and database right. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

  • republish content on another website;
  • scrape, mirror, or systematically extract the calculators or their output;
  • sell, sub-license, or commercially exploit any part of the Site; or
  • remove copyright, trade mark, or attribution notices.

HMRC materials linked from the Site are subject to the Open Government Licence v3.0.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Site for any unlawful purpose;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access, probe for vulnerabilities, or interfere with service availability;
  • introduce malware, excessive automated traffic, or scraping in breach of section 4 above.

6. Third-party links and ads

The Site links to third-party websites and displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. We do not control and are not responsible for those third parties' content, accuracy, or data handling. Clicking a link or ad takes you to a third party on whose terms and privacy practices you should inform yourself.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, UK Tax Tools and its operator are not liable for any loss (including lost tax refunds, penalties, interest, or business loss) arising from reliance on the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Your sole remedy if you are dissatisfied with any part of the Site is to stop using it.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that consumers resident elsewhere in the UK may bring proceedings in their local courts.
